Deslagging agent is used in metal smelting and casting because it melts at a high temperature above 1200 and has cohesiveness. It can effectively gather and absorb scum and slag inclusion on the surface of the metal solution, and its chemical properties are stable, and it will not cause secondary pollution to the molten metal. The quality of deslagging agent is not only related to the production process and quality control, but also largely depends on the quality of raw materials. The performance of slag remover is mainly reflected in reaction time and cohesiveness. A good flux is characterized by fast reaction time, good adhesion, and no slag dropping.
Deslagging Agent Characteristics
5. Eliminating slag inclusion, improving casting quality, and reducing reject rate.
6. Contact with molten metal, stable reaction, no splash, non-toxic and tasteless, no smoke and dust, no impact on human body.
How to Use Flux
Sprinkle a little slag remover on the surface of molten metal in the ladle, and then sprinkle a little covering flux after removing the slag. The addition amount is about 0.1% – 0.3% of the liquid metal weight.
Before casting, the slag remover is sprinkled on the liquid surface to form slag accumulating insulation layer. With the decrease of metal level in the ladle, the slag removal agent will drop down.
A little slag remover can be sprinkled at the bottom of the ladle before the liquid metal is discharged. It is suggested that the slag remover should not be placed at the bottom of the ladle before the cast aluminum water is discharged, so as to avoid affecting the effect of spheroidizing inoculation.
