In aluminum and aluminum alloy melts, Aluminum Refining Fluxes are substances, which can remove gases, inclusions, and harmful elements from the melt through physical and chemical interactions. Commonly used aluminum alloy refining agents, according to their functions, include covering agent, degassing agent, refining agent (also known as the composite purifying agent), slagging agent (also known as slag-aluminum separator), furnace cleaning agent, magnesium removal agent, and degassing agent.
Commonly used chloride salt refining agents usually have the characteristics of high volatility, low boiling point, and fierce reaction during refining. However, chloride salts are generally hygroscopic, and the final product of the reaction, aluminum chloride, has a certain degree of toxicity and pollutes the environment. Some chloride salts will increase the content of metal impurities, and their use is restricted.
Composite Aluminum Refining Fluxes refer to a salt mixture formed by mixing or fusing two or more single salts. This is the most widely used type of refining agent in the aluminum industry. People can choose different refining agents according to various requirements, such as composite fluxes for purifying agents, slagging agents, covering agents, and magnesium removal agents.
We provide granular flux and powder in two forms. Compared with powder flux, granular products are dust-free and more efficient, with a small amount of addition.
The basic requirements for Aluminum Refining Fluxes are:
①No chemical reaction harmful to molten aluminum is produced in the working temperature range.
② It has good refining, covering, or slagging, or the required performance of removing metal impurities.
③The melting point should be lower than the melting temperature and have good fluidity in the liquid state; no matter what type of composite flux, it should be easy to separate from the molten aluminum and not adhere to the furnace wall and tools.
④The density should be less than the density of molten aluminum at working temperature.
⑤ Dry thoroughly.
⑥Sufficient sources, convenient supply and low prices.
