Ceramic Disc Filter can remove the small and suspended non-metallic inclusions in the aluminum melt. It is a variety of new methods for purifying aluminum melt have been developed at home and abroad. With the development of science and technology, the requirements for alloy materials are getting higher and higher, especially in the use of aerospace, aviation, electronics and computer industries. The traditional refining process cannot remove the small and suspended non-metallic inclusions in the aluminum melt. The inclusions in the ingot destroy the continuity of the metal and are often one of the main sources of cracks, thereby reducing the processing performance and use performance of the aluminum alloy, and affecting the quality of the product. The traditional purification process of aluminum alloy is to use flux to remove slag and gas from the aluminum melt.
Ceramic Disc Filter
When each factory uses Ceramic Disc Filter for filtering: according to their different casting process systems, the space between the furnace and the casting platform, different forms of filter boxes can be designed. According to the flow direction of the liquid flow, it can generally be divided into three ways:
(1) Lay the filter flat, and the molten aluminum flows through it from top to bottom. The advantage is that it is easy to manually remove the scum on the surface of the molten aluminum above the filter. These scum are formed when the molten aluminum rolls and enters the filter box through a drop when it starts to flow for filtration. However, since the liquid flow passes through the filter from top to bottom, and the gas in the molten aluminum escapes upwards in the reverse direction of the liquid flow, this method may not be conducive to exhaust.
(2) Lay the filter flat, and the liquid flow passes through from bottom to top. Although this method is conducive to the escape of gas in the aluminum melt, when the discharge starts to filter, the slag and oxide film always gather under the filter. Because it cannot be cleaned up, it is prone to blockage.
(3) Put the filter in a vertical position. The aluminum melt passes through the filter horizontally, which is beneficial for artificial slag removal and exhaust. The filter can be replaced during the casting process, and even double filter tanks can be used (one tank works, the other tank is spare)
